Transportation

Sweeteners Plus specializes in railcar-to-truck transfer of all types of liquid and dry sweeteners. Our philosophy of the long haul by rail and the short distance by truck significantly reduces our transportation costs and helps to minimize our impact on the environment. To ensure on-time delivery, Sweeteners Plus has its own fleet of over 50 trucks dedicated to meet customer needs, whether via tank truck, van trailers or pneumatic.

All loading and unloading of rail cars and trucks is done inside.
Stainless steel tankers with stainless steel pumps, dry bulkers and box trailers.
Totally enclosed automatic exterior truck wash.
Internal tank wash on premises.
Truck maintenance facility on site.

Operations Facility

Our operations facility located in Lakeville NY includes sales and marketing, customer service and central cispatch. Some of our capabilities at this facility include:

Converting various types of dry powders and granules into liquid solutions for both conventional and organic applications.
Handling, transferring and packaging of all types of liquid and dry sweeteners from bulk rail to truck is our specialty.
Storage tanks ranging in capacity from 250 gallons to 40,000 gallons for all types of liquid and dry sweeteners, making us quite versatile in meeting our customer’s needs.
On-premise quality control checks follow the product from receiving through processing to shipping or storage. Accurate blending and liquefaction processes assure product and customer specifications are met.
We have on-site sanitizing and loading capacities in the same facility to insure the quality and security of our products.

Bottling and Storage Facilities

Sweetners Plus has a bottling facility with the capacity for filling 32, 64, or 96 ounce PET plastic bottles at 80 bottles per minute. Contract packaging opportunities in our on-site bottling facility include liquid sugars, pancake and waffle syrups, concentrates and ready-to-drink beverages. Also, we have twelve 40,000-gallon storage tanks on site that allow separate storage of customers' products.

Quality Assurance

At strategic points in our processing system, our QA technicians follow procedures to insure products meet industry and customer specification. These include:

Provide and maintain customer specifications.
Employ an independent laboratory to insure consistent quality testing.
Conformity tests for solids, Ph, color, temperature.
Use a liquid chromatograph to determine carbohydrate profiles.
Monitor seals in incoming and outgoing deliveries to insure the security and quality of the product.

Other steps we have taken include:

All liquid storage tanks have ultraviolet light and blower systems.
All product is filtered and/or screened prior to delivery.
Inside storage tanks and delivery trailers are sanitized with Clean-In-Place washing system. Only hot water is used to sanitize, using no chemical wash at any time.

Audits and Certifications

Our facility is audited by various federal and state agencies as well as a yearly audit conducted by the American Institute of Baking. We currently hold a superior rating. All of our products are Kosher Certifed. In addition, we produce a few items that are Kosher for Passover. Please contact your Sales Representative for a list of these items.

Sweeteners Plus has partnered with Energy Star to assist us in our progress in improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout our facility and with our transportation network.

Sweeteners Plus is a distributor and manufacturer of liquid and dry sweeteners for food and non-food applications. These include white and brown sugar, organic and kosher products, fructose, maltitol, corn syrup, and invert syrups. Additional services include bottling, custom blending, and liquid fondants. Sweeteners are available in bulk, pails, drums, and liquid totes. Sweeteners Plus ships product regionally via long haul by rail and short haul by its own fleet of trucks and nationally via carefully selected distrbution partners.
